“The Lightning Thief” is a middle-grade, mythological fantasy novel by Rick Riordon. This is the first book in the “Percy Jackson and the Heroes of Olympus” series. In this book, the writer had told us the story of Percy Jackson, a half-blood. Percy Jackson is a half-blood, half-human and half-god. This book is about Greek mythology. The story tells us that the Greek gods, the monsters and the titans are still alive. The story of this book is around a camp called Came Half-Blood. The children of gods from mortals are trained in this camp. Percy was one of them. The name of this derives to the lightning bolt of Zeus, the god of the sky. The lightning bolt was stolen and Percy and his friends have to find that bolt. Their adventure leads them to many bizarre things. This book is funny and exciting. It belongs to a middle grader but grown-ups will enjoy it, too.

Percy is a 12-year-old boy. He is a half-god, but he doesn’t know it yet. When he knew that the Greek gods are not just fables but real. He was sent to a camp, for people like him. Percy later knew that he was the child of a god, but he doesn’t know who his father was. As Percy knew about his father, he was sent for a mission then. Percy was accompanied by two more campers Annabeth and Grover. Grover was a satire; he was a human up from his waist and a goat below his waist. Annabeth was a fierce girl; she was the daughter of the goddess of wisdom, Athena.  Their mission was to find the lightning bolt of Zeus, the god of the sky. A strong bond of friendship developed between Percy, Grover and Annabeth. They’ve to return the bolt to Zeus or the camp was in a danger. If you want to know that they saved the camp or not, you have to read this book.

The Greek gods and the titans are still alive. The half-bloods are the children of gods with mortals. The half-bloods are trained in the Camp Half-Blood. Half Bloods or heroes are frequently attacked by monsters. The evil titan god is rising. The world is in danger. Only Percy Jackson’s fate will save or destroy the world. The great prophecy is made. The epic adventure has begun. Annabeth, Grover and other Olympus are with Percy on this battle against evil.

This book is a heroic fantasy. This is a must-read for those who’re interested in mythology or middle-grade books. There are some stunning revelation and unforgettable movements in this book. This book is written brilliantly. This children fantasy is for everyone. Also, this is a bit humorous, too. Heroes are fighting evil, don’t miss.

I’ll rate this book A- and recommend that if you’re looking for mythology or middle-grade fantasy, then this book is a must-read for you.
