‘Angles and Demons’ is a crime, thriller, suspense novel written by Dan Brown. This is the first book in the Robert Langdon series. It features Robert Langdon, a protagonist of the novels who is an American symbolist and a professor of religious iconology and symbology at Harvard University. This book is followed by The Da Vinci Code and 3 other novels in this series. This book is about a mysterious assassin who killed Leonardo Vetra and kidnapped four cardinals. One of the cardinals shall become the next Pope. In this situation, Robert Langdon was called to find the assassin and find the mysterious group behind them.

The book starts with a prologue in which we found Vetra begging for his life in front of an assassin. The next day when Kohler, the head of CERN founds scientist Leonardo Vetra brutally murdered and branded with a mysterious symbol. He contacts Robert Langdon to know about that mysterious symbol and find the assassin. After meeting Vetra’s daughter Vittoria they found that Vetra was researching about antimatter. That if comes in contact with any matter (even air) then it will react resulting an explosion thousand times of a nuclear reaction. Soon they found some clues and went in the search of that assassin and the mysterious symbol. In Rome, the College of Cardinals assembled to elect the new pope. But the assassin kidnapped four of the cardinals and leaves Langdon with some clue to find the secret enemy. To know: What happened to the assassin? What were the secrets of the mysterious symbol? Who was the mastermind behind this assassination and kidnapping? Did Robert Langdon and Vittoria were able to catch that assassin and save the cardinals? You have to read this book.

The whole incidents in this book are between 24 hours and each movement brings a new twist and a turn in the plot. At some points in this book, you may think that this person is the assassin or his follower but within a movement, another twist comes and when the things revealed that happened which nobody had thought of. The pace of this book is fast and exciting and with some astonishing movements and shocking revelation, it becomes one of the best crime thriller books.

My Ratings- This book is absolutely a great thriller and it is written brilliantly. Thus, I’ll rate this book a B and suggest that if you are looking for crime fiction and thriller then it’s a must-read for you.
